How to Measure for Your Belt

Finding Your Perfect Belt Size

Getting the right belt size is easier than you think. Follow one of the two methods below for the most accurate fit.

Method 1: Measure an Existing Belt

This is the most reliable method if you already have a belt that fits well.

  1. Lay your belt flat on a surface.
  2. Measure from the fold of the belt (where the buckle is attached, not including the buckle itself) to the hole that you use most often.
  3. That measurement in inches is your belt size.

Method 2: Measure Your Waist

  1. Wrap a soft measuring tape around your waist or hips where you wear your belt — not necessarily your true waist.
  2. Note that measurement in inches.
  3. Add 1–2 inches to that number to get your ideal belt size.

Size Chart

Waist Measurement Belt Size
28–30" 32"
30–32" 34"
32–34" 36"
34–36" 38"
36–38" 40"
38–40" 42"

A Note on Belt vs. Pant Size

Belt size and pant size are not the same. Most people wear a belt 2 sizes larger than their pant size. When in doubt, size up.
